Trend Cipher Settings
Configuration and Parameters
1. Enable/Disable Trend Cipher
Option: Toggle On/Off
Description: Enable or disable the Trend Cipher component. This control is useful if you want to focus on other SSA components without visual clutter.
2. Trend Cipher Period
Default Value: 120
Description: Sets the main period for trend identification. A higher value results in smoother signals that reflect long-term trends, while a lower value makes the Trend Cipher more responsive to short-term market changes.
Usage Tip: Adjust this parameter based on your trading style. For swing trades, use a longer period. For intraday scalping, a shorter period is ideal.
3. Show Signal Strength (Beta)
Option: Toggle On/Off
Description: When enabled, a "+" will appear next to buy (▲) or sell (▼) signals to denote high-confidence or stronger signals.
Usage Tip: This feature is in beta testing; use it as a guide but verify with other indicators or price action analysis to confirm entries.
4. Take Profit During Ranging Conditions
Option: Toggle On/Off
Description: Enabling this option allows take-profit (TP) signals to appear during ranging or neutral market conditions. These signals are shown as gray-colored bars on the chart by default.
Usage Tip: This is useful in choppy markets where minor price moves still provide trading opportunities. Disable this feature if you want TP signals only during clear trends.
5. Take Profit Signals
Option: Toggle On/Off
Description: Enables or disables the display of take-profit signals in the form of "X" markers on the chart.
Usage Tip: Enable this feature to be alerted to possible exit points during a trend. Adjust in tandem with the Max Take Profits setting to customize your take-profit strategy.
6. TP/SL Levels
Option: Toggle On/Off
Description: If enabled, TP and SL (Stop Loss) levels appear as static lines on the chart, providing visual cues for scalping and short-term trades.
Usage Tip: Recommended for scalping strategies where quick entries and exits are crucial. These levels help you capture profit and limit losses within each trend cycle.
7. Noise Reduction Factor
Default Value: 1.3
Step: 0.05
Description: Sets the level of noise filtering in the Trend Cipher signals. A higher value reduces the number of signals, filtering out minor price fluctuations.
Usage Tip: Increase this value if you are seeing too many false signals, but avoid setting it too high as it may filter out legitimate signals.
8. Max Take Profits per Signal
Default Value: 3
Description: Specifies the maximum number of take-profit signals displayed for each trend signal.
Usage Tip: Set a lower number if you prefer partial exits. For full exit at one level, set this value to 1.
