Fair Value Trail

Configuration and Parameters

1. Enable/Disable Fair Value Trail

  • Option: Toggle On/Off

  • Description: Allows you to enable or disable the Fair Value Trail component on your chart.

  • Usage Tip: Disable this feature if you prefer other entry indicators or want a less cluttered chart.

2. Show Optimal Entry Signals

  • Option: Toggle On/Off

  • Description: When enabled, small arrows (▲ for buy, ▼ for sell) appear on the chart, indicating points where the price is at a discount (uptrend) or premium (downtrend) relative to the trend.

  • Usage Tip: Enable this feature to receive clearer entry signals. These signals work well with trend-following strategies, helping you enter trades when the price aligns with favorable fair value conditions.

3. FVT Main Length

  • Default Value: 20

  • Description: Sets the look-back period for the Fair Value Trail component, controlling the length of time considered for calculating fair value. A higher value provides a smoother trail for longer-term trends, while a shorter value captures short-term price movements.

  • Usage Tip: For swing trading, use a longer period to track broader trends. For day trading or scalping, a shorter period provides faster, more responsive signals.

4. FVT Noise Reduction Factor

  • Default Value: 3.7

  • Step: 0.1

  • Description: Controls the sensitivity of the FVT component to price movements. A higher noise reduction factor reduces sensitivity, filtering out minor fluctuations and reducing the number of signals.

  • Usage Tip: Increase this value in choppy or highly volatile markets to avoid false signals. A lower value provides more frequent entry points but may generate signals based on minor price moves.

5. Trail Width Multiplier

  • Default Value: 1

  • Range: 0.05 and up

  • Description: Sets the width of the fair value trail. A larger value widens the trail, providing greater tolerance for volatility, while a smaller value narrows the trail for tighter entries.

  • Usage Tip: For stable markets, use a narrower trail. In highly volatile markets, a wider trail is recommended to avoid premature entries.
