ML Trend/Range Detector Settings
Configuration and Parameters
1. Enable/Disable ML Trend/Range Detector
Option: Toggle On/Off
Description: Allows you to enable or disable the Machine Learning Trend/Range Detector component on your chart.
Usage Tip: Disable this feature if you don’t need adaptive trend/range detection or prefer to use other SSA components for market classification.
2. Training Size
Default Value: 100
Description: Sets the number of historical bars used to train the ML model. A larger value helps the model learn from more historical data, making it more robust and stable, though possibly slower to adapt to new trends.
Usage Tip: For slower-moving markets, a larger training size can be beneficial. In fast-moving markets, reduce the training size slightly to help the model respond more quickly to recent data.
3. Learning Aggressiveness
Default Value: 0.01
Range: 0.005 to 0.02
Description: Controls how aggressively the ML model updates its parameters based on new data. Higher values make the model adapt more quickly to changes, while lower values make it more stable but slower to respond.
Usage Tip: Use a higher value (e.g., 0.015–0.02) in volatile markets to make the model more responsive. In more stable markets, a lower value (e.g., 0.005–0.01) can provide more consistent results.
4. Bar Color Override
Option: Toggle On/Off
Description: When enabled, this setting changes the bar color on the chart to reflect the ML Trend/Range Detector’s classification, using orange for trending and gray for ranging conditions.
Usage Tip: Enable this feature to get an at-a-glance view of market conditions. This can be particularly useful when confirming signals from other components, as it visually highlights the prevailing market state.
