# Setting up Discord

## Why you need it

Discord is essential for AlgoAlpha members because all of AlgoAlpha's crypto signals are hosted on the platform, allowing you to stay on top of market trends and trade alerts. Additionally, being on Discord gives you constant updates and notifications to help you make informed decisions quickly. Moreover, it provides exclusive access to a premium community of like-minded traders and offers direct communication channels with the AlgoAlpha team, ensuring you can ask questions and engage in discussions seamlessly.

## Create A Free Discord Account

To create a Discord account go to the [Discord website](https://discord.com/), download the Discord app (or open it from the browser) and enter your desired username.

## Joining The Discord <a href="#joining-the-discord" id="joining-the-discord"></a>

When you first join our server, you won’t be able to see anything besides our public channels. You can get help in the [**#support**](https://discord.com/channels/1082583892877385759/1203721743122960404) channel, see our announcements, get useful information regarding AlgoAlpha, and learn how to sign up. If you haven’t already joined the server, [click here.](https://discord.gg/xCmqTVRexz)

## Exclusive Roles

Once you get a subscription on our website, you will be able to connect your Discord account to our system which will give you exclusive perks.

The @VIP, @VIP Indicators, and @VIP Signals Discord roles are granted to users depending on the plan they chose from [our website](https://www.algoalpha.io/). Users are prompted to connect their Discord account right after they sign up, however, we also send Subscription Confirmation email which includes a link to our portal where they can connect their Discord account to receive the role.

Every exclusive role includes full access to our highly active community channels where traders discuss all markets using AlgoAlpha, alongside strategy forums, thousands of automated scanner alerts, and more.
